Was planning on posting this yesterday, but I felt like crap, so stayed in bed all day, huzzah.

Honestly nothing to interesting in this one - just a little background on Michiru and introducing her siblings (they just show up on episode in the anime)

Chapter updates

I've added a little gadget on the right hand side of the blog that displays my translation/scanlation progress for the next chapter. Translation should be obvious, scanlation is just all scan/clean/typesetting steps compressed into one since I usually do them concurrently on one page at a time.

Oh, and someone had asked me where I got the raws from - Amazon.co.jp ships world wide (shipping is kind of a bitch, especially on smaller orders) I just ordered it from there.

And one last update, I'll probably post the 1 page cover comic from the next chapter tomorrow.

My own two cents - This is probably aimed more at the people who are posting the Japanese raws publicly rather than the scanlation groups - and have to agree with them - the last couple chapters of the big series (Bleach, One Piece, Naruto) have actually been out completely on the internet before you could even buy in them in Japan.

In the (unlikey) case that Air Master is ever licenced and officially translated to english - Buy it!

Chapter 12 status

About 70% done the translation - hoping to finish it up this weekend. I'm aiming for one chapter a week, but it still takes me a bit of time to work through the more chatty chapters.

As always - looking for translation help - once I got the hang of using Gimp, its pretty easy to do the scans and cleaning, getting the script to put in there is what takes me forever.

Randomness - Okonomiyaki

The next chapter takes place in a bar/restaurant, so food (unsurprisingly) comes up in the dialogue a bit. One interesting dish that I hadn't heard of before is Okonomiyaki. It apparently can be prepared a bunch of different ways depending on the local style, but basically its sort of half way between an omelet and an pancake. I'm going to have to keep an eye out and see if I can find somewhere I can get this - it sounds good.

Chapter 12 progress

About 25% done the translation for chapter 12 - I'm teaching myself japanese by doing this - while I've got most of the grammar rules down at thist point (although I'm still learning new stuff about that as well) my vocab is extremely limited, so I have to look up a lot of the kanji. Since this is a seinen manga, the use of furigana is pretty limited too. So it goes...

If anyone knows anything about sake, feel free to leave a comment - There are some specific references in this chapter that I'm trying to figure out if its an actual name brand or if the author just made stuff up.

As always, looking for help from people who can read japanese, or even just references to good web resources for learning/translating if anyone wants to point something my way.

Figured I'd throw this one up since it will probably take a bit to work through chapter 12 in its entirety, since its just a one page short it works fine on its own.

In other news - if anyone wants to work on getting Air Master listed at any of the big sharing sites please go ahead - its kind of a pain to get it listed everywhere. As long as the credit pages are preserved its all good.

Chapter 11 is done!
